Admin: publish a notice & track read receipts

In Plinth, society admins, committee members, and members with the notices.publish permission publish official notices from Admin → Notices (/admin/notices) or Committee → Notices (/committee/notices). Residents are notified in-app on publish; you can target who sees each notice, schedule it, require acknowledgement, and export a per-member read roster for AGM packs.

Before you start

  • You need admin, committee, or notices.publish permission.
  • Residents should have claimed flats so audience targeting and read stats are accurate.

Steps

  1. Open Admin → Notices or Committee → Notices.
  2. Tap New notice.
  3. Enter Title and Body (Markdown supported — bold, lists, links).
  4. Pick Category (maintenance, financial, security, AGM, governance, urgent, …).
  5. Audience (optional): limit by role (owners, committee, tenants, occupants), tower/block, or specific flats.
  6. Optional: link a Document vault file; add attachments (PDF/images) after saving the draft.
  7. Optional toggles:
    • Pin to top — stays above the feed.
    • Mark urgent — high-visibility styling.
    • Flash notice — blocking in-app popup until read or acknowledged.
    • Require acknowledgement — residents must tap I acknowledge this notice.
    • Require admin approval — committee drafts go to admin before publish.
  8. Set Expires at to auto-hide after a date, or Schedule publish for a future date/time.
  9. Save draft, Submit for approval (if your society requires it), or Publish notice / Schedule notice.

After publish

  • Residents in the selected audience receive an in-app notification.
  • On the published notice, view read stats (eligible / read / acknowledged).
  • Export read roster (CSV) — name, flat, role, read time, acknowledgement time — for follow-up before AGM.

Shortcuts

  • Meetings & AGMNotice draft on a meeting card pre-fills a draft from the meeting.
  • ElectionsCreate notice draft on an election pre-fills governance copy.

Tips

  • Use audience targeting for tower-specific water shutdowns or owner-only levy notices.
  • Use flash only for safety or time-critical items — it blocks the app until handled.
  • Archive old notices to keep the feed clean; publish history stays in the audit log.
