How do committee elections work in Plinth?
Plinth runs elections in enforced phases: draft → announced → nominations open → scrutiny → voting → results declared. No phase can be skipped.
Phase 1: Admin creates the election
Define posts (President, Secretary, etc.), set dates for each phase, configure eligibility rules and required credentials, and pick seat mode for multi-seat posts (exact N or up to N). Optionally assign an Election Officer.
Phase 2: Nominations
Flat owners self-nominate for posts. Endorsers may be required. Nominations close automatically on schedule.
Phase 3: Scrutiny
Admin or Election Officer reviews each nomination — approve, reject with reason, or mark under review. Objections can be filed and resolved.
Phase 4: Voting
Secret ballot opens on schedule. Each flat casts one ballot across all contested posts. Uncontested posts are declared without a vote.
Phase 5: Results
After voting closes, results are computed server-side using plurality tally rules, with tie detection at the seat boundary. Formal declaration is logged and a report is available for download.
